Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said debris fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
